A little about me
I’ve been a veterinarian for 20+ years.
As a child I always wanted to be in the medical field. After a visit to my local vet school open house I knew that was what I had to do. The trajectory was a little squirrely as l ended up getting a Bachelors and Masters degree in Economics prior to my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
The path to becoming a specialty in home euthanasia provider was equally convoluted. This scenic route involved:
two post-graduate internships
several years as a general practitioner
certification in veterinary physical rehabilitation
certification in medical veterinary acupuncture
certification in veterinary hospice & palliative care
Helping senior pets live their best life became my passion. This passion evolved into wanting to make sure that these beloved souls have the most peaceful goodbye possible. It is through this purpose that Wee Paw Way was born.
My approach
I strive to make each appointment special by tailoring it to honor the bond between you and your dear pet. I take the time to connect with you via telephone or video call to learn about your pet’s ‘story’ prior to our euthanasia appointment. This call is also a way for you to learn and ask questions about the euthanasia process to as well as giving an opportunity for you to tell me about special circumstances or requests. This call guides me so that I can tailor your beloved pet’s euthanasia appointment to be as dignified, and as peaceful as possible.
Most of the families that I serve become a part of my ‘squad’ - they become friends. Families have reached out to share when they’ve gotten a new furry family member; I’ve had coffee dates and even been invited to a clients wedding. The families I help become MY family.
Honor the magical journey from beginning to end.
Honor the magical journey from beginning to end.
Honor the magical journey from beginning to end. Honor the magical journey from beginning to end.
My service is different than other in-home euthanasia services.
Working with clients who view their pet as important family members is my core principle.
I care deeply about providing end-of-life care for pets and work hard to create services with their best interest in mind.
I am passionate about working with people who see the value in co-creating a compassionate farewell experience for their pets.
I am an experienced, licensed veterinarian and pet parent myself.
I understand the everlasting bond with our soul pets. It’s like they are sent from the stars to rescue us.
My goal is to honor the magical connection between you and the brightest star in your life.
Saying goodbye to these companions is incredibly difficult. I work with you to create a comfortable peaceful atmosphere for you and your pet.
Every detail is handled with care from beginning to end.
What My Clients Say
It’s hard to see the brightest star in your life fade. I’m here to help you give the best goodbye possible.
